Why on earth are you writing this, Headsmart?

Mike Lewis

We’re just insanely lovely people.

Okay, okay, there’s an ulterior motive in there, too, but our main goal really is to educate.
If you’ve decided you don’t want to pay for web design, then 1) you’re probably not our ideal client and 2) you’re probably the sort of person who wants to see stuff for themselves.

We know we’re not going to convince you to buy a website with us, and we’re very cool with that.

“Okay but I still don’t get why you’ve gone to the trouble of writing a guide on how to not buy your services!”

Understandable.

There are 3 reasons.

  1. This portion of our blog links to software we use. Many of those links are affiliate links.
If you decide to go down the route of DIYing it, then we hope you’ll do us the solid of buying the necessary software through our links.
No extra cost for you (in fact, sometimes a discount) and we get a bit of a kickback from software partners we love.
  2. You’re not going to like this, but: Web design is hard. Or, at least, good web design is hard.
Either this blog does a decent job of making you understand why an agency is your best choice, or you go in full steam, and if it all goes belly up, we hope you’ll remember us fondly.
We can go through what worked for you, what didn’t and formulate a plan to get your business to where you want it to be via the magic of the internet.
  3. It would be very cool if our advice helped you build an epic website. Perhaps you’ll recommend us to one of your millionaire buddies down on the golf course in a few years.

Wins all round though, eh?

Alright. Let’s do this.

Mike Lewis

I'm the co-founder of HeadSmart Media. I started this business back in 2015 with my ugly brother, Matthew Lewis. I was born when computers were just about common enough that I had access to one in nursery, and became fascinated the very second I saw one. Since then, it's been a love affair with all the possibility of the internet, and the potential of one's mind to craft parts of it. I'm looking forward to speaking to you at some point, to talk about your dreams, and how we might carve you a nice part of the internet to grow them in.
